Living by the Seasons - Autumn

Living in the cycle’s of our planet is part of living in harmony with our environment. All our lives are governed by cycles, such as seasons, the moon, the sun. Our plans and intentions are best implemented in the appropriate season.

So what should we be eating in autumn?

  • fruits - apples, avocados, grapes, limes, figs, melons, peaches, pears, plums.
  • vegetables - broccoli, brussel sprouts, pumpkin and squash, cabbage, capsicums, cauliflower, celery, corn, eggplants, leeks, parsnips (unless you’re a diabetic), tomato, zucchini, and lima beans.
  • meals with orange and yellow vegetables, soups, casseroles, pies and grains.

In your heart, mind and spirit, you should keep in mind:

  • healing grief and loss
  • balance
  • justice
  • authority
  • honouring your intuition
  • acknowledging and appreciating the things and people we value
  • authority
  • purity

You should avoid:

  • smoking
  • shallow breathing
  • holding onto emotions and grudges
